The Village of Flat Rock’s Tailgate Market will be celebrating the end of it’s 3rd season with a Harvest Festival on Thursday, November 5th from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.Come celebrate fall and purchase the final bounties of the earth. Vendors will join in the spirit with special offerings of the season and customers can sample tasty homemade treats. In addition to the seasonal produce a wide variety of baked goods, honey, jams, jellies, herbal vinegars, herb teas, eggs, cheeses, lamb, beef, fish & seafood will be available. Many vendors will have handmade crafts and there will be a demonstration of spinning and carding wool.
Be sure to bring the kids for the petting zoo that will include sheep, miniature chickens, rabbits & carrier pigeons or join the fun in painting their own mini pumpkins.
The Flat Rock Tailgate market is organized/maintained by local residents as a non-profit group and is sponsored by the Flat Rock Merchants Association. The group’s goal is to provide fresh, local, in-season produce & food products that are predominantly organic, chemical free or produced by sustainable agricultural practices to the community. The market will continue in 2010 every Thursday starting in April, exact date to be announced. Vendors wishing to participate should contact Hand in Hand Gallery at 697-7719 for an application.
