Halloween '09 - Whatcha Gonna Do?

The Myers House 2009 from 7:00PM to 12:00AM, except October 31, which will be until the last victim goes through. Presented by: Scare Krew

A walk through at your own pace haunted house with Michael Myers, Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, Jeepers Creepers, LeatherFace. If they don't get you all our other spooks and crazies will.

Directions: I-26 to exit 53 Upward Rd. to Bell Ave. off Upward Rd near East Henderson High, East Flat Rock. Follow the Signs. Or for directions: call 828-808-0332 ask for Joey

Admission is $10.00 for adults $8.00 12 and under. Proceeds donated to charity.

Pinheads Graveyard (13th Annual) every night from Dark until the last victim. Presented by: Pinhead

Pinhead's Graveyard this year will be bigger and better than ever. The Graveyard has become one of the Largest Outdoor Haunted Houses in the Southeast.

Located in a thick, dense wooded area with a mountain stream, and endless woods that only Pinheadand his Friends could find their way out of. This area that Pinhead has chosen for his Family Reunion is certainly not where you and your family would ever plan your reunion.More than 1/2 mile of terror to walk through will leave anyones nerves shocked and almostparalyzed! This 20+ minute path is not for the faint of heart!

This place is for Pinhead and his friends only!!! Remember, Pinhead has warned you NOT to come!!! So...do not be seen where you shouldn't be. Pinhead WILL find You and his friends Freddy Krueger, Michael Myers, Jason Voorhees, Leatherface, Otis &Baby, Chucky, Jigsaw, Night of the Living Dead, Scream and others will NOT be happy if they find you on Their path!!!

Castle in the Corn from 6:00PM. Presented by: Eliada Homes for Children

This Maze is at Eliada Homes for Children (5 minutes from downtown Asheville)(MAP). The "haunters" will be the University of North Carolina at Asheville's Drama Department, and they will receive a portion of the proceeds. The maze will be filled with costumed actors and actresses, many of whom will bring classic horror movie characters to life. Tickets are $10 and $8 for groups of 20 or more.

The haunted maze is appropriate for middle school aged children and above. If younger children would like to attend, we recommend they come early (as close to 6 pm as possible) to enjoy the haunted maze while the sun is still out.

A Shock in the Corn from 7:00PM to 10:00PM. Presented by: Blue Ridge Corn Maze.

Get good and lost and good and scared at A Shock in the Corn! The maze is full of scary scenes and costumed characters. Guided tours of portions of the 6 acre maze are available. Admission: $8.00. $1 per person discount for group of 10 or more. Bring your Friends! Special Rates for groups of 50 or more. Call about fundraising opportunities for nonprofit.
Parking: 2 dollars - one dollar goes to Disabled American Veterans.

Trick-or-Treat Street from 4:30PM-7:30PM. Presented by: Downtown Hendersonville, Inc.

Festivities will begin with a costume contest at the gazebo in the 400 block of Main Street. The contest will be divided into age groups which will be infant through kindergarten, first and second grade, and 3rd grade and older. There will also be a family category. There will be judges, and prizes. After the costume contest, merchants will have trick-or-treating, and that will last until around 7:30, or until everyone runs out of candy.

Halloween Carnival (for young children) from 3:00PM to 5:00PM. Presented by: Fletcher Parks and Recreation Dept

Fletcher Parks and Recreation invites you and your family of little ghosts, goblins and witches to participate in our annual Halloween Carnival! The event will take place at Kate’s Park (next to Fletcher Methodist Church). The carnival will feature fun and safe activities for children 11 & under in the spirit of Halloween including: games, age appropriate costume contests, prizes, and Chuggy the Choo-Choo Inflatable. The sponsor of the Halloween Carnival is Dan Gilbert Insurance and admission to the carnival is a donation of non-perishable food items for a local non-profit to be collected on-site at the carnival entrance.

The Pumpkin Pedaller Bike Ride from 5:30pm - 8:00pm - Presented by: Asheville on Bikes

The ride begins at City County Plaza, just outside City Hall in Asheville, works its way through Asheville and culminates in the parking lot of Clingman Cafe.
The Melanaster Band's, Marley Carroll provides the musical entertainment for the evening.

Entry to the event is $5. Wedge Brew and Clingman Cafe's kitchen will be open. As always, costumes are customary and prizes are present.

The ride isn't strenuous, but there are a few short climbs so design your costume to be bike functional. Be well illuminated and wear your helmet.

ProBikes, Liberty Bikes, BioWheels, and Youngblood's want you to be properly equipped for the ride. Save $2 on bike lights or a bell with the mention of AoB and the Pumpkin Pedaller.
